We had a blast the day we went to whales tales water park but first let me explain what happened leading up to that. I woke up not really feeling well but decided to go and try to have some fun anyways. During a rest stop bathroom break I found a pamphlet for the water park and decided to check it out, thankfully I did because we were headed to the wrong address,it was never made clear that there three places were located in completely different areas,we thought they were all sections of the same water park. The website is lacking a lot of information and needs to be more direct and informational. Thankfully we were headed in the correct direction, but we arrived at 3pm since we had had a 2 ½ hour drive instead of the 1 hour drive we anticipated. We arrived with three short hours to have some fun before they closed at 6pm. All except one food place was closed so we headed there to get something to eat, there prices were reasonable and the food was good. After swimming around the wave pool mom and I headed our separate ways and I went to the water slides to the far left. They have several different slides with varying drops and intensities for all ages which is great. The water sides were a ton of fun but you do pick up a lot of speed coming down them and only land in a very shallow water area,so I did have a few bumps and bruises but nothing serious. The day we went the weather was perfect,it was hot enough to be in the water but not to hot and there was less of a crowd and no long ride wait times. There admission is cheaper than most places at only $35 for most adults. They have a water area for families with little ones, which has some sprinklers and small water slides. Whales tales also has the pirate adventure which is for slightly older kids and has water slides, bridges, lots of things to climb and play on. Besides all the morning chaos the only other negative thing in my opinion was the lifeguards, most of them looked extremely young and very tiny, although I have been swimming since the age of three you never know when a freak accident will happen and I’m not sure I someone that small would be able to pull my 200 pound body out of the pool if something ever happened. If you live close by and come after three to the park they will give you passes for the next day as well,I’m not sure what rules and restrictions apply to this if any. Overall we had a great time and if we were ever headed that direction we would likely go again. This is a fun activity families can do over summer vacation. I received the tickets for free for review purposes, all thoughts and or opinions are my own, unbiased and I was not compensated.
